SEATED PASSENGER TRAIN:
This travel option offers open plan seating similar to a bus with no sleeping facilities. There are about 70 seats per coach and two toilets and wash basins are available on each end of the coach. Please Note: There are no sleeping areas on these coaches as seats are similar to bus seats. Bring a sleeping bag as these coaches can get very cold at night. Also bring food and a flask with your own hot tea or coffee already made. More...
SLEEPER PASSENGER TRAIN:
There are two sleeper compartment types on most routes, economy (Tourist Class) and semi-luxury / upmarket (Premier).
Economy / Budget Sleeper:
The economy sleeper coach offers
very basic private or shared compartments with two very basic shared shower bathrooms per coach at a very affordable price. We recommend you bring your own sleeping bag, hot water flask and meals as dining cars and bedding services are not always available. Train compartments can also get very cold at night if the heater does not work properly.
Semi-Luxury / Upmarket Sleeper:
The Semi-Luxury Sleeper is an upmarket passenger train that travels many of the same routes as the economy class but at 10 times the quality. The train offers several private compartments per coach with two good quality shared shower bathrooms per coach. All bedding and meals are included while there is a cash bar for drinks and coldrinks.
